I Survived Another Surgery

Well, this past Wednesday I had to have a cyst removed from my left wrist as well as shaving down some of the bone. I was scheduled to go in at 2pm, but it was nearly 7pm before I got to the OR. I don't remember much right after surgery, but the nurses told me I was thrashing around quite a bit. I figure it must have been from the pain. When I finally came to (or the first I remember anyway) they were wheeling me from the post-op room into a room on the med-surg floor at the hospital here. I was crying and shaking from the pain and I could barely talk. Add that to the intense nausea and well, I earned myself an overnight stay. Luckily, we planned ahead and Matt had already taken leave Wed-Fri to help out with Madilyn.

I had my post-op doctor appointment today and they took off the huge, bulky dressing. I got to see the incision and stitches. It was bigger than I thought and my hand is still pretty swollen. A picture of my stitches is below for those of you who like that kind of thing. Then they re-wrapped it up, and I'm in a splint for the next 3 weeks. It's pretty painful, but hopefully it will be better in the long run.

Madilyn also had her 4 month vaccines today. I know I should have done them when we had her doctor visit nearly two weeks ago, but she was a real crank that day. I figured we didn't need to add shots to that mix. I gave her some Tylenol about 30 min before going in today and she did great. Matt held her and she barely even cried. I hope she does as well tomorrow as she's been doing all day!

Madi's new bumbo seat came in the mail yesterday. I need to get some new pictures of her in it and get them up soon.

The Jackson County Fair is going on through tomorrow, and I think we're going to check it out tomorrow. Should be lots of fun and hopefully pictures to follow.

Thats all for now. Whew!
